Nasa co-principals suffered a big blow in their respective counties losing key seats to the ruling Jubilee party.

The coalition’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga voted in Nairobi where his new governor will be a Jubilee man, Mike Sonko. His MP in Kibra constituency Ken Okoth, however, retained his seat while Jubilee’s Johnsone Sakaja is the new senator with nine out of 17 MPs from the Jubilee party.

Kalonzo Musyoka on his part voted in Mwingi where his Wiper governor Julius Malombe lost to Narc’s Charity Ngilu. His constituency, Mwingi North however saw a change of regime as Munuve Mati who defected from Wiper to Jubilee lost his seat to Wiper’s Paul Nzengu. Kitui County saw two MPs elected from the Jubilee party although wiper still secured the majority with five out of eight MPs.

Musalia Mudavadi, being an ANC party leader, lost the Vihiga gubernatorial seat to ODM’s Wilber Ottichilo. He however has an ANC MP in his Sabatia constituency, Alfred Masadia. The county distributed its MP seats among Nasa parties with ANC getting three out of the five seats.

Moses Wetangula retained his senate seat for Bungoma County and his party ousted the governor Kenneth Lusaka making Wycliffe Wangamati the new governor. His Sirisia MP is however going to be a Jubilee man, John Waluke. Four out of the nine MPs from his county will be Jubilee men with one independent and four from his Ford Kenya party.

Isaac Rutto lost his governorship to Jubilee’s Joyce Laboso while his home constituency Chepalungu saw a tough contest between his Chama Cha Mashinani’s Gideon Koske and the incumbent, Jubilee’s Paul Bii. Koske in the end won the race albeit with a small margin. He however lost all the other four constituencies to Jubilee MPs.
