The fight against graft in Kisii county put me on a collision path with National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, area Senator, Chris Obure has claimed.

Obure, who is vying for Kisii county governor’s seat on Jubilee Party ticket, said he raised the concern with Raila but he told him to work with area Governor James Ongwae, putting him in dilemma.

Speaking at Nyamache Green Stadium in Bobasi constituency after elders endorsed him to vie for the seat on Tuesday, the senator alleged he tried to contact Ongwae to address the matter in vain.

The senator, elected through Orange Democratic Movement ( ODM) party said he was forced to ditch the party, join Jubilee and vie for the seat to offer better leadership. “It was difficult for me to do my oversight work after Ongwae ignored me.

I wanted us to address the issues of stalled projects and ghost ones,” noted Obure. Accompanied by lawmakers; Joel Onyanche (Bomachoge Borabu), Simon Ogari (Bomachoge Chache), Richard Tong’i (Nyaribari Chache), Elijah Moindi (Nyaribari Masaba), Zebedeo Opore, (Bonchari) Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North) and Jubilee Party candidates — Charles Nyachae, (Senator) and Dorice Donya, (Women’s Rep), he urged locals to vote all the six Jubilee Party candidates.

He also urged the locals to re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto saying that they enjoy massive support nationally and the Jubilee government has a good development record.
